It's a very good question. Several customers already requested the native touch support for Windows 7 and 8, but the lists of requested features are enough different. In one case it's only basic scrolling using fingers on devices like Windows 7 tablets, in other cases these are the ability to zoom the grid contents using pinch-to-zoom and to increase the thickness of its scroll bars to make them more convenient for fingers.

Can you tell us your detailed requirements for this functionality?

The support of basic touch gestures was added with the release of the v4.6.5. The pertinent excerpt from the What's New :

Quote:

Added support for the standard touch gestures available on touch screen in Windows 7, 8 and 8.1. The current version of iGrid.NET allows you to use the pan gesture with inertia to scroll the grid contents, and the press-and-hold gesture as an equivalent of right-click.

However, some developers suggested more features the end users of our grid control may need (consider them as ideas):

  1. Ability to enlarge scroll bars to make them more finger-friendly. Most likely, we need a new integer property in the scroll bar settings objects for that.
  2. Support for pinch and stretch to zoom. However, there are many questions related to this point: what to do with row heights and column widths, grid font, etc.

The question of further touch-related improvements is still opened, so feel free to place your comments and suggestions here.
