I saw the announcement regarding the Grid being actively developed to be used for Runtime.

As per announcement, am I correct to assume that, I have to manually write code to add to my WinForms?

What do you mean by 'Runtime'? .NET Framework or .NET Core and its latest releases, such as .NET 5/6/7?

You can add iGrid to a WinForms form both at design time and run time in all versions of .NET/.NET Framework. The demo installer deploys all what you need for this.
