Hi everybody,

Is there any way to set the horizontal (or vertical) scrolling speed (when using the left or right arrows) ?

Thank you.

Do you mean the left and right arrow buttons in the horizontal scroll bar? The size of this step is also known as "small change", and the effective value can be only read using the SmallChange property of the corresponding ScrollBarObject (iGrid.HScrollBar/iGrid.VScrollBar).

iGrid uses the hard-coded value of 5 pixels for the horizontal scroll bar, and it has worked ok for many years. Do you find it tiny and we should increase it? Or do we need to make it configurable?

As for the vertical scroll bar, VScrollBar.SmallChange equals the DefaultRowHeight property to scroll the grid by rows if they all have the same height.

Hi Igor,

Thank you for your quick reply ;)
You are right, I mean the left and right arrow buttons.

Indeed, it is too bad that the SmallChange property can only be read (in my case the horizontal scroll bar).
I think that 5 pixels is a too small value especially if it cannot be modified.

Depending on the grid that we are working on, it could be useful to be able to change this value.
Most of controls that I use in my VB projects are able to do that and it is really pratical.

Do you have an idea to increase the scrolling value via code knowing that the iGrid uses the hard-coded value of 5 pixels for the horizontal scroll bar ?

Last thing :
In the past, I used the pretty good vbAcccelerator grid. Today, I can say that your grid is really great ! I am happy with my purchase. A very good investment : except for the read-only SmallChange value... :)

Have a nice day.

We introduced a new tool for fine tuning of such parameters in iGrid v6 released a couple of days ago.

Can we continue the discussion of this subject in email correspondence? Send us a letter, please, to our support service.

Igor, i think you should think about this. To make small change configurable in hScroll to the user he could perhaps resolve the "trearing problem" by increasing the small scroll value for horizontal scrolling.

Can you tell us more about this tool?

This is the DevDbg method. I think it may not help you to solve the problem with "tearing" you reported here:

http://10tec.com/forum/p...rizontally---iGrid5--vb6

However, I was going to provide you with this tool too in our interim builds of iGrid.

But let me work on the iGrid drawing code first ;)
