I am using the latest version of the 64-bit Modern iGrid control for two dozen users with no problems.

I have ONE user where the control simply will not load. Access error: There is no object in this control.

I have un-registered the control, replaced the file, and re-registered it several times. I even completely uninstalled Access and reinstalled it.

I don't know what else to try. The problem is only on this one computer. Any suggestions?

Thank you.

Does it occur only in one specific database/form?

If the control can be registered on that pc, can you create a brand new Access database and add iGrid to a new form in it?

Did you try to use iGrid in UserForms in Excel/Word VBA?

I did create a brand new database with one form, one iGrid, and no VBA code at all. It does not load.

Yes, I am able to successfully register the control. I have unregistered and reregistered it several times.

I will try Excel/Word next.

I created new Word and Excel documents and added the Reference to the iGrid control in both. But I do not see any way to actually add this control to either document. Regardless, I need it to work in Access.

I realize this is not a problem with your control. It works perfectly fine on 25+ computers. This is the only time I have had this problem with only one computer. I was just wondering if you had any ideas for me to try. Again, I know the problem is not with the control; it is with this ONE computer.

If you want to add an ActiveX control to a form (UserForm) in Excel/Word VBA, you should open the Toolbox and add the ActiveX control icon to it first. After that you can drag the control onto the form surface, resize it, change its properties, etc. You can find numerous examples of doing this in the Internet (for example, video lessons on YouTube).

My idea was to check whether iGrid ActiveX can be instantiated on that 'problem' pc in general, i.e. in other apps. If so, then it can be a specific problem of Microsoft Access.

I have no other ideas what it could be at the moment. Perhaps, you can ask why you can't add an ActiveX control in specific forums for Access developers. Keep us informed, please, especially if you find an answer or solution.

Regarding this issue, I forgot to mention that the user with this problem has his computer language set to Japanese. Is it possible that iGrid doesn't work with Japanese characters?

The screenshot shows the error which translates to "There is no object in this control."

This is a simple Access database file created for testing. It has only one form with one iGrid control. No tables, no queries, no reports, no VBA code. I am using 64-bit Access and iGrid750_10Tec_win64.ocx. I added the reference as required. This test file works on all other computers.

iGrid does not have any dependency on the user locale. But who knows — maybe this is just another quirk of Access.

Have you tried to reproduce the same problem in Word/Excel VBA on that problem pc?

I tried adding iGrid to an Excel UserForm. You can see that it is visible on the Toolbox but when I try to place it on the form I get an "Element not found" error.

I am getting the same error in Word.

Perhaps you can create an Excel or Word document to send me for testing.

Most likely, you are using a very old build of iGrid if you see the "Element not found" error. Download the latest iGrid ActiveX demo from the website, install it, and try with the latest iGrid (7.50.1072).

I am using 7.50.01045 (not that old).

In the download section, I don't see an option for just the .ocx file. I see the "portable demo" (binaries) and the Demo Installer.

Yes, I wrote that you need the demo installer. It deploys the latest demo version of the OCX you can test.

I've never used the demo installer before.

I guess I will unregister and delete the older ocx file and then install the demo.

The demo works. My problem may be the older version or it may be specific to Access.

How can I get the newer version to test with my application?

Your subscription ended in June, and you need to renew it to get the full version of the latest build.

Thank you for renewing your subscription. Let's continue this dialog in email. Can you send us an exact sequence of actions that lead to the problem and in which environment you do this (OS version and edition, Office version, its bitness, and the like)?

Thank you, Igor. The interim build that you provided me has fixed the problem for this user. As always, excellent support.
