I am creating a WinForms application that the rows need to be in a specified order and the user will determine the order. I would like the user to be able to drag and drop the rows to quickly put the data in their desired order. Is there a way this can be done? If there is, do you have any sample code I could look at?

The Drag-n-Drop sample in the iGrid demo demonstrates how to implement row dragging within the same grid or to another grid:

You will find it in the 'Ideas for Your Apps' sample group.

As you can see, you can even adjust some options related to drag-n-drop operations.

Hi Igor,

You have a great Grid which I've used to good effect in my applications.
I too would like to explore the dragging of rows for reordering purposes, but the example quoted is not available in the 'Ideas for Your Apps' sample group.

Where can I find this row dragging example?

Thanks,

Joe

Are we talking about the .NET version of iGrid? The sample is on its place:

Hi Igor,

I'm using the activeX version not IGrid.Net, I just realised I'm in the wrong forum.
Do you have an example of this functionality for ActiveX?

Thanks,

Joe

See the 'WinAmp-styled dragging' sample in the extra samples library for iGrid ActiveX:
